Boran Cattle

The Boran breed, a variant of the East African Short-horned Zebu, has its origins among the Borana people of Ethiopia. Its commercial value was recognized in the early 20th century by farmers in Kenya's Laikipia, Rift Valley, and Machakos regions, where it was further improved for ranching purposes. Known for their fertility, early maturation, hardiness, and docility, Boran cattle are highly prized in the beef industry. Our herd primarily consists of Boran, alongside the iconic Ankole and Sahiwal breeds. The Boran's resilience, adaptability, and superior beef quality make it a cornerstone of our livestock operations.

Sahiwal Cattle

The Sahiwal breed, native to the Sahiwal district of Punjab, Pakistan, is renowned for its exceptional milk production, early maturity, and ability to thrive in harsh climates. These hardy, heat-tolerant cattle have proven to be well-suited to Uganda's tropical environment, making them a perfect fit for our extensive farming operations. The Sahiwal is also noted for producing fast-growing calves, further enhancing its value in both dairy and beef production.

Brown-Swiss Cattle

The Brown Swiss breed, descendants of the ancient Braunvieh cattle, originates from the Alpine region of northeastern Switzerland, with roots that trace back as far as 4,000 BC. Known for their dual-purpose nature, Brown Swiss cattle are valued for both their high milk production—the second highest among dairy breeds—and their strength. These large, robust cattle, weighing up to 900 kg for bulls and 600 kg for cows, are characterized by their close protein-to-fat milk ratio, quiet temperament, longevity, and hybrid vigor. Strategically spread across our five interconnected farms, the Brown Swiss ensures a steady supply of high-quality feeder calves for our vertically integrated operations.

Iconic Ankole Cattle

The Ankole breed, native to the Great Lakes region of Africa, is celebrated for its striking, long horns and remarkable hardiness. Part of the ancient Sanga family, with origins tracing back over 2,000 years to Egypt, the Ankole Longhorn holds a revered status in many cultures. Known for its lean meat with lower cholesterol and fat content, this breed also produces milk with a high butterfat percentage, making it valuable for dairy crossbreeding. Raised on natural pastures, our Ankole cattle contribute to our diversified herd, ensuring a consistent supply of premium, organic beef tailored to health-conscious consumers.
